We left Yosemite on Oct 2nd and chose to go East down through Tioga Pass. Shortly after joining Hwy 395 we had motorhome engine problems. Not sure what happened but the engine shutdown light came on and we stopped to see what was wrong. It is difficult to find technical help on a Sunday afternoon but after a phone call to a Freightliner tech in Gaffney SC we were pleased that the error cleared itself. Freightliner suggested we continue on our way and have the ECU checked for error codes to see what happened. It was a tense drive for a while. We stopped for a bit in Bishop to relax and found a bakery that was recommended to us. If you get to Bishop you have to go into Schat's Bakery! Every carb you might want plus more. Bring lots of money as you will want a little of everything. After that we again headed south to a RV park just off 295.
